Bildung, Familie, Senioren, Frauen und Jugend (BMBFSFJ) German Federal Government's strategy to counter loneliness

Millions of people in Germany are affected by loneliness. The Federal Government’s strategy to counter loneliness is the first time tackling the issue of loneliness comprehensively and with a variety of measures in Germany. Loneliness has many faces and causes and is not a question of age. The aim of the strategy is to strengthen social connection and shed more light on loneliness in order to prevent and alleviate loneliness in all age groups. The strategy to counter loneliness was developed under the lead of the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth.
