Peace, security and sustainable development around the world are central concerns of German foreign, security and development policy. The multitude of crises and violent conflicts that the world faces at present, some of them immediately neighbouring Europe, also present major challenges to Germany. Overcoming the multi-layered crises and violent conflicts is a pressing challenge that demands a comprehensive and forward-looking approach, which is what Germany stands for.
