On 19 October 2001 the Geman Bundestag passed the Act Regulating the Legal Situation of Prostitutes (Prostitution Act). The Act entered into force on 1 January 2002.
On the occasion of the adoption of the Prostitution Act and by resolution of 19 October 2001, the German Bundestag called on the Federal Government to report on the impact of the new legal situation created by the Act after a period of three years. As requested, the Federal Government hereby submits its report on the impact of the Prostitution Act.
